PRACTICE

  1. Type the first name of your ancestor in the First Name text box.

  2. Type the last name of your ancestor in the Last Name text box.

    NOTE: Use the MARRIED name for female ancestors.

  3. Click the START SEARCH link.

    IMPORTANT NOTE:
    After you perform the next step, these instructions will disappear. Consider printing these instructions now. To print, click once in this frame to activate the frame. Click the Print button in your browser's menu. To return to this tutorial, click your browser's Back button several times to return to this page.

  4. Review your results. Click a name of interest OR click the next 25 link on the right side of the page to review the next set of 25 results.

  5. To register (free), click the Yes, I am New to This Site link.
    If you have already registered, sign in with your User Name and Password.
    Skip to Step 12.

  6. Click the Register Now link below NEW TO AFIHC AND THE FOUNDATION.

  7. If you accept the terms of the agreement, click the I accept button.

  8. Complete the fields with an asterisk (*) on registration form.

  9. Write down your User Name and Password.

  10. Click the SUBMIT button.

  11. Click the Continue on to Activity button.

  12. Review the passenger record.

  13. To see the image of the record, click the View Original Ship Manifest button.

  14. To enlarge the image, click the magnifying glass icon.

  15. Click the Close Window button.

  16. If your ancestor's name did NOT appear on the image, click the next link to view the next page of the document.

  17. Click your browser's Back button several times to return to the tutorial.
