Many Virginia residents furnished supplies during the American Revolution.
There are 3 collections in the Library of Virginia's Revolutionary War Public Service Claims Index  located at this link.
Be sure to try various spellings.  You can use the asterisk * for a wild card search on both first and last names.  You can also add the name of the county in your search.
After clicking on a result of interest, scroll down the page and review the information next to Additional Format to see whether the person is located in:
1) Public Service Claims. Impressed Property. Court Booklets and Lists.
2) Public Service Claims. Impressed Property. Certificates.
3) Public Service Claims. Impressed Property. Commissioner's Books.
An individual may be listed in one, two, or all three collections.
Next, scroll down to Note(s). The county of residence should be listed.
If the individual is listed in Court booklet(s) and/or Lists, it will indicate the page number.
If the individual is listed in Commissioner's book(s), it will indicate the book number (I, II, II, IV, or V) and page number.
A page number will NOT be listed if an individual is listed in Certificates. You will need to browse to find the certificate.
For an example of this information on a search of the Revolutionary War Public Service Claims Index for Charles Ellis, click here.
Microfims for all three collections have been digitized and are available on FamilySearch.
This page links to the records for the Commissioner's Books.  In general, the records for each county are in alphabetical order.
In the example for Charles Ellis, he is listed in all 3 collections.  To find his record in the Commissioner's Books collection,

NOTE:  The records in the Court Booklets and Lists collection have been transcribed by Janice Abercrombie and Richard Slatten.
The records in the Certificates and Commissioner's Books are NOT part of the work by Abercrombie and Slatten.
